OK Ladies,
How many of you have been out golfing "with the guys" when you get paired up with a fourth who has to take his own cart because he doesn't want to golf with a woman? I have. I was out golfing with my husband and one of his best friends, they rode together and I had my own cart, when the starter told us he was going to put a single out with us. Since I knew the starter very well, he took me aside and told me the guy really didn't want to golf with a woman and that he would be taking his own cart so he didn't have to ride with me, but he had to put him out with someone and he hoped I didn't mind. I said I didn't care let him golf with us, it was his problem he didn't think women should be golfing. How much fun do you think I had when his first tee shot went in the water, and his second just barely cleared the ladies' tees. I drove up to my tee box, took out the driver and sent a gorgeous shot out 250 yards down the center of the fairway!! The wonder golfer did compliment me in an offhand way, but I knew he thought it was just a lucky shot. Obviously, I beat the man on the first hole, the second hole and he took the third hole. I have a little problem with my putting and the lovely sole began giving me pointers.. How sweet?? I didn't end up beating him that time, but I'm pretty sure I changed his mind about women golfers. And if I didn't, I sure gave him something to think about. Anyone else have a similar experience?
